Supplementary Medical Officers call off strike.

The Joint Supplementary Medical Services Trade Unions Alliance states that the continuous strike initiated by the Supplementary Medical Officers based on several demands will end today.

Speaking to our news team, the Chief Secretary of the alliance Saman Jayasekara stated that a meeting will be held today with the Health Minister and the Treasury Secretary.


He added that if the discussions prove unproductive they will re-commence their strike in hospitals around the island.



Meanwhile, employed graduates called a media briefing in Colombo yesterday.

Speaking at the media briefing convenor of the Employed Graduates Association Chandana Sooriyarachchi stated that issues have arisen regarding the Programme Officers’ Service Constitution.
