Several other depots have joined the Sri Lanka Transport Board strike which was initiated by a few depots requesting for their basic salaries to be increased.

Secretary of the All Island Transport Services Union Sepala Liyanage stated that 60 of the 105 SLTB depots have now joined the strike.

He added that they will continue the trade union action until a circular is sent out stating that their salaries have been increased.

A senior spokesperson of the SLTB indicated that bus services in the North-Western, Sabaragamuwa and Gampaha zones have to a complete standstill.
