The High Commissioner for Sri Lanka to India Prasad Kariyawasam has apologized from political parties of Tamil Nadu today.

The High Commissioner for Sri Lanka to India had made a statement to the A.N.I News Service that Sri Lanka is of the stance that Tamil Nadu political parties are pro LTTE.

The Sri Lankan High Commissioner to India had pointed out that the Central Government of India would take a good decision at the Geneva Human Rights Council session regardless of the requests made by the Tamil Nadu political parties.

Indian media reports pointed out that following this statement made by the Sri Lankan High Commissioner to India, the Tamil Nadu political parties had expressed their objection to it.

It is further reported that the Indian Foreign Affairs Ministry had requested the Sri Lankan High Commissioner to India to make an explanation on his statement.

Accordingly, the High Commissioner for Sri Lanka to India Prasad Kariyawasam had visited the Indian Foreign Affairs Ministry today and had made an explanation with this regard stating that he apologizes for any inconvenience caused to the representatives of Tamil Nadu political parties through his statement which was made to the A.N.I News Service.
