United National Party Deputy Leader Sajith Premadasa states that he will not attend the combined opposition’s May Day Rally to be held in Jaffna.
The deputy leader made these comments at a meeting held at Sirikotha yesterday under the patronage of UNP General Secretary Tissa Attanayake.
The deputy leader added that the UNP should have a separate May Day Rally in Colombo and that he is against the combined oppositions intended rally in Jaffna.
He had also stated that he would be attending the felicitation of former President late Ranasinghe Premadasa.
The deputy leader had then left the meeting.
General Secretary Tissa Attanayake had then stated that the party has made a final decision regarding the May Day Rally in Jaffna and under no circumstances will they change that decision.
Meanwhile, Opposition Leader Ranil Wickremasinghe and several party leaders will engage in a 3 day tour of the North.
They will also attend several public rallies and meetings in Jaffna, Mulativ and Kilinochchi
