The officials of the supplementary medical service have once again initiated an island wide trade union action.
Accordingly, medical research technical scientists, pharmacists, radiology technicians and physiotherapists are engaging in this trade union action.
Previously too they initiated a trade union action based on several demands.
However, it was suspended temporarily under the intervention of the Minister of Health Maithreepala Sirisena.
The Secretary of the Supplementary Medical Services Trade Union Joint Federation Saman Jayasekara stated that it was decided to stop emergency services at all hospitals.
However, the Ministry of Health issued a communiqué yesterday.
This communiqué issued by the Ministry of Health pointed out that measures were taken to fulfil all their demands.
