The Indian Coastal Guards has arrested 05 Sri Lankan fishermen yesterday who engaged in fisheries activities at the Indian maritime boundary.

The Indian media reported that these Sri Lankan fishermen were engaging in fisheries activities at a distance of 40 nautical miles off the Puduchchery province in Tamil Nadu.

The Indian media reports pointed out that another group of Sri Lankan fishermen who were engaged in fisheries activities at the Indian maritime boundaries had evacuated from the Indian maritime boundary following a warning given by the Indian coastal guards to evacuate its maritime boundary.

It is reported that the arrested 05 Sri Lankan fishermen are under the custody of the Puduchchery Police.
