The Supplementary Medial Officers will continue their strike today despite the court order issued yesterday preventing them from going ahead with the trade union action.

The Secretary of the Supplementary Medical Services Trade Union Joint Federation Saman Jayasekara stated that they have obtained the relevant legal advice with regard to the injunction order issued yesterday.

The Colombo Chief District Judge Dhammika Ganepola issued this order effective until the 30th of this month after considering a case filed by 02 patients.

The trade union action is now on its 7th day and we spoke to the secretary of the association to find out more details.

Meanwhile, the All Island Nurses Federation has decided to take sick-leave as a trade union measure tomorrow.

The secretary of the federation Sisira Senarathne spoke at a media briefing held in Colombo yesterday.
