Deputy Minister Vinaayagamoorthi Muralidaran alias Karunaa Ammaan says that India, the first country to sentence LTTE leader Velupillai Prabhaakaran to death and the international community that supported the eradication of terrorism are bringing war crime charges against Sri Lanka.
The Deputy Minister said so while participating in a debate held in parliament yesterday with regard to several ordinances under the national Aquarian Culture Development Authority Act.
The Deputy Minister said that the LTTE was declared a banned organisation first by India.
Deputy Minister Karunaa Ammaan said that Sri Lanka did not use wrong methods to defeat terrorism and that this could be affirmed with certainty.
The Deputy Minister pointed out that political parties should act united to face the problems amidst challenges Sri Lanka encounters internationally.
