The Nugegoda District Court Judge Champa Janaki Rajaratna issued an injunction order against the United National Party to prevent the party from proceeding ahead with a disciplinary inquiry against UNP provincial councillor Shiral Lakthilaka.

This order has been issued today following a petition filed by the provincial councillor stating that the party leadership is trying to expel him from the party on false and malicious grounds.

Meanwhile, the Anuradhapura Additional Magistrate Chandima Edirimanna has issued warrants to arrest the Opposition Leader of the North Central Provincial Council Kasthuri Anuradanayaka. He was accused of an illegal attempt to release a provincial councillor in police custody. The warrants were issued after he defied back to back orders to appear in courts.
