The resolution against Sri Lanka is due to be debated at the UN Human Rights Council sessions in Geneva today.
Reports from Geneva indicate that the discussions will begin early this morning Geneva time.
All member countries will be allowed to voice their opinions at this time after which Sri Lanka will be given the opportunity to provide a response.
Reports also indicate that head of the Sri Lanka delegation in Geneva Minister Mahinda Samarasinghe is gearing up to make his presentation.
The vote on the resolution will also be held at the conclusion of discussions today.
