The Defence Secretary says that the grave responsibility of not re-creating a war environment in the long war-afflicted Sri Lanka lay with the Security forces.
Defence Secretary Gotabhaya Rajapaksa stated this while addressing journalists in Colombo last evening.
He added that rehabilitated LTTE cadres have been integrated into the society and weapons keep being found from different places even now.
The Defence Secretary also said that, given this situation, the responsibility of not re-creating a war environment lies with the security forces.
During the final stage of the war LTTE leader Prabhakaran had gone into hiding in an island in a lagoon.
The Defence Secretary said that the charge that Channel 4 levels about his death during the war under such circumstances could be regarded as an act of those ignorant about the war.
The Defence Secretary also said that the way the war was waged was explained to the diplomats visiting Sri Lanka.
He added that given the explanation, these diplomats are satisfied with the actions taken by the army.
The Defence Secretary also said that however once they return to the country they make statements against Sri Lanka.
The Defence Secretary said that therefore that there is a different agenda in this situation.
