The body of a 13 year old child who died in Hambantota in 2008 has been exhumed based on a court order.
The child was said to have been killed in a crocodile attack and was buried in 2008.
However, the parents had complained to the Criminal Investigation Department that they felt the child had been murdered and then the body brought to the area where the crocodile was.
Accordingly Hambantota Magistrate Anushka Senevirathna ordered for the body to be exhumed.
The magistrate also ordered the coroner of the Hambantota hospital to provide a comprehensive autopsy.
