Several Indian media reports were released today regarding India voting in favour of the resolution.

The Hindu newspaper alleges that India voted with the United States not to help find justice for the Tamil people.

The newspaper adds that the decision to vote for the resolution was an attempt to curb internal political issues.

It further adds that the Indian decision was based on pressure put on the central government by the Tamil Nadu DMK party.

The report also indicates that the central government is currently facing many issues.

It also says that India was running counter to its policy of not voting for a country-specific resolution, and that too against a close neighbour which had in turn affected its foreign ties.
