A special discussion was held this morning between the Leader of the Ceylon Workers' Congress Deputy Minister Muththusivalingam and Minister Basil Rajapakse with regard to the situation which has arisen following the resignation of the Minister of Livestock and Rural Community Development Arumugam Thondaman from the government.
It is reported that this special discussion had highlighted the reasons which resulted in the resignation of Minister Arumugam Thondaman from the government.
It was reported that Minister Arumugam Thondaman resigned from the government based on a controversial issue which arose in relation to an official of the National Livestock Development Board which is under the Ministry of Livestock and Rural Community Development.
It was further reported that the President had not accepted the resignation letter sent by Minister Arumugam Thondaman through electronic mail.
However, speaking to our News Team, a representative of the Ceylon Workers' Congress stated that this discussion which was held between Minister Basil Rajapakse and Deputy Minister Muththusivalingam this morning was a success.
