The Somalian pirates, who held 21 individuals including 7 Sri Lankans hostage, have agreed to release the hostages.

These 21 individuals were captured by the pirates 17 months ago during a raid on the ship M. V. Alberto.

The hostages included 7 Sri Lankans, 7 Pakistanis, 6 Bangladeshis and 1 Iranian.

After extensive negotiations, lead by a Pakistani Police Officer, the pirates who initially had demanded $10 million have agreed to release the hostages.
