A proposal has been submitted to the Sri Lanka Freedom Party Central Working Committee requesting for a disciplinary inquiry to be held in to the actions of Minister of Public Relations and Public Activities Mervin Silva.
The SLFP Central Working Committee met under the patronage of President Mahinda Rajapakse yesterday.
Sources indicate that SLFP General Secretary Minister Maithreepala Sirisena requested for the disciplinary inquiry to be carried out.
Sources also confirmed that the proposal was passed by the Central Working Committee.
The decision to call for a disciplinary inquiry was based on Minister Mervin Silva’s statement regarding no one being able to oust him as long as the President remains in power.
However, Minister Mervin Silva has left the island on the 28th of this month.
