Minister Nimal Siripala De Silva meets Ugandan President

Minister Nimal Siripala De Silva who is taking part at the Inter Parliamentary Union which is being held at Kampala in Uganda met the President of Uganda Yoweri Kaguta Museveni.

Issuing a communiqué, the Ministry of Irrigation and Aquatic Resources pointed out that during this meeting bilateral discussions were held with regard to political, economical and social development of the 02 countries.

The 126th Assembly of the Inter Parliamentary Union commenced yesterday while Minister Nimal Siripala De Silva, Minister of Plantations Mahinda Samarasinghe and Deputy Speaker of the House Chandima Weerakkody are participating at this assembly representing Sri Lanka.

On behalf of the Sri Lankan government, the Sri Lankan delegation also thanked the President of Uganda for extending their support for Sri Lanka at the Human Rights Council session.

In accordance with a special invitation of President Mahinda Rajapakse, the President of Uganda will engage in an official tour in Sri Lanka in November.
