The Sri Lanka Motor Vehicle Traders' Association has requested the government to reconsider the tax hike on motor vehicles.

The Chairman of the Sri Lanka Motor Vehicle Traders' Association Thilak Gunasekara stated that due to the tax hike the prices of spare parts had increased by a large proportion as well.

Speaking further the Chairman stated that however, the tax amendment had not made any references to motor vehicles which are imported on special licences.
