LLRC is accepted; Not bound to implement; says Minister G L in Parliament.

Foreign Affairs Minister Professor G. L. Peiris said that although the
Government accepted the LLRC Report as a whole, it was not bound
to implement all its recommendations.

The Foreign Affairs Minister said so while delivering the reply to the
adjournment debate on the motion passed against Sri Lanka at the
Geneva Human Rights Commission.

Meanwhile addressing parliament yesterday UNP MP Hareen Fernando stated that the government has not yet stated whether the LLRC recommendations will be implemented or not.

Professor G L Peries addressing parliament stated that a sovereign country cannot be influenced by another country or an organisation.
