The United National Party alleges that the government is engaged in classism.
Speaking at a media briefing held in Colombo today UNP MP Kabir Hashim stated that the government has forgotten the massed and is only servicing a select group.
He added that this is evident by policies put in place by the government.
Meanwhile, acting General Secretary Attorney Daya Palpola has issued a statement today.
It states that the party’s central working committee has forwarded the Sirikotha Attack Report to the disciplinary committee.
The report identified three groups who were involved in the attack namely those who led the people, those who acted in a raucous manner and those who accompanied the attackers.
The statement added that these groups included UNP members and non-members.
It also includes details the involvement of Lal Perera, Chandima Nayanajith, Lakshman Abeygunarathne, Maithree Gunarathne and Anura Bastian in the incident.
The acting general secretary added that disciplinary action against these individuals will be taken based on natural justice and current law norms.
