The National Transportation Commission has taken steps to withdraw the route permit of a private coach which caused a deadly accident in the Molagoda area in Kegalle.
The accident occurred on the 01st of April when the bus concerned was travelling from Panadura to Kandy and had attempted to over take another bus.
It had then collided head-on with a van which was travelling in the opposite direction.
Two persons who were travelling in the van at that time were killed on the spot while 8 others were admitted to hospital.
A special investigation has been launched into the incident.
The NTC states that stringent measures will be adhered to in future regarding traffic offending private bus drivers.
We spoke to Chairman of the NTC Roshan Gunawardena to find out more details.
