Leader of the opposition Ranil Wickremesinghe has left the island this morning for a private visit to India.
As a part of his tour itinerary, the leader of the opposition will tour the Sikkim province located in North India.
According to Sirikotha, Ranil Wickremesinghe will assess the manner in which the tourist industry had been developed in the area while also visiting sacred Buddhist sites.
Moreover Ranil Wickremesinghe is also scheduled to meet with Indian minister of External Affairs S M Krishna.
The leader of the opposition is also slated to deliver a guest oration held under the patronage of Former Sri Lankan President Chandrika Bandaranayeke Kumarathunga.
