A media briefing was called by the JVP yesterday concerning the disappearances of Kumar Gunaratnam alias Kumara Mahaththaya & Dimuthu Attigala.
Earlier the JVP had denied the existence of Kumara Mahathaya stating that such a member did not exist within its party ranks.
In September last year concurrent to the 'then' JVP members Dimuthu Attigala & Pubudu Jayagoda vacating the party, Somawansa Amarasinghe the Political leader of the party, expressed these views to our news team.
Here are some of the excerpts from that conversation.
However subsequent to the recent abduction of senior member of the Jana Aragalya Movement Kumara Gunarathnam a media briefing was convened by the JVP yesterday.
Here polit bureau member parliamentarian Anura Kumara Dissanayaka expressed these views.
In the face of these developments Secretary of Political Affairs of the Jana Aragalaya Movement Pubudu Jayagoda states that any acknowledgement made by the JVP to substantiate the existence of such a member named Kumara Gunaratnam within the party, even at present would be an honour extended towards the party.
