The party convention of the Jana aragala movement or the front line socialist party was held in Colombo today.

Wile senadheera gunathilleke, pubudu jagoda and champika sudasinghe were inducted to the party's board of chairman’s, chameera koswatta, jude silva pulle and k.s. subasinghe were appointed to the party secretary's board.

18 office bearers have been elected to the party's executive committee.

Among those elected are prema kumar gunaratnam and dimuthu attigala.

Several individuals who represented the JVP'S student faction have also been elected to the executive committee.

Expressing his views at the party convention chairman of the front line socialist party senadheera gunathilleke stated that party will commence its political activities from where the Patriarch of the JVP Rohana Wijeweera concluded.

 Meanwhile, The United National Party convened a media briefing in Colombo today.

UNP MP Harin Fernando addressing the briefing expressed views with regard to the abduction of Kumara Gunarathnam.

He stated that the government must investigate the case thoroughly.

 

Civil movements, artists as well as several political party representatives convened yet another media briefing in Colombo today at which views were expressed on the prevailing trend of disappearances.

Leader of the democratic peoples front mano ganeshan expressed these views therein.

 The National Freedom Front stresses that those responsible for the abduction of members belonging to the Jana Aragalaya Movement should be exposed.

The NFF issuing a release stated that allegations & aspersions as per usual would be directed towards the security forces.

While stating that this would be the easiest to resort to at the moment, the NFF in it's release said that such actions would only assist in further concealing the true culprits rather than expose them.

The NFF went on to say that every citizen should be given the privilege to enjoy the rights bestowed upon them by the constitution.
