General Secretary of the Lanka Electricity Board Employees' Union Ranjan Jayalal states that they have not relinquished their trade-union stance concerning their remuneration.
He stated that the future course of action in this regard will be discussed at a meeting to be held on the 18th of April, with the participation of all trade unions.
Non-executive staff of the CEB engaged in trade union action yesterday by filing sick leave.
This course of action was resorted due to an unresolved salary issue.
However due to the high state of risk faced by the public last evening it was halted.
Nevertheless the General Secretary went on to say that if the officials concerned do not respond to their requests accordingly, they would resort to a more severe course of action.
