Strong quake strikes off Mexico's Pacific coast

A 6.9-magnitude earthquake has struck off Mexico's Pacific coast, the second quake to hit the area in the last 24 hours.

The US Geological Survey said the quake occurred 127km northeast of Guerrero Negro, at a depth of 6.2 miles.

No immediate damage was reported, and no tsunami warning has been issued.

An earlier quake with a magnitude of 6.5 struck in the mountains in the west of the country.
