Leader of the Opposition Ranil Wickremesinghe currently on his tour of India has stated that Sri Lanka hopes to foster an internal solution for its national issue.
Upon having met the leader of the Bharati Janatha Party Lal Krishna Advani, the leader of the opposition expressed these views to Indian media.
During his meting with Advani, the leader of the opposition also discussed the re-settlement of those displaced during the conflict.
Subsequently addressing Indian media he went onto say that if a solution to the national issue is to be sought, equal prominence should also be placed on the LLRC report.
Ranil Wickremesinghe further stated that he wills to take up the issues faced during re-habilitating ex LTTE combatants in parliament next month.
The opposition leader's visit to India will conclude on the 17th of April.
Recently as part of his tour itinerary the opposition leader also met with the Indian Minister of External Affairs S M Krishna.
During this meeting attention was focussed concerning the political solution which is to be presented to the Tamil Community in Sri Lanka, as well as resettlement.
Tomorrow Ranil Wickremesinghe will meet Indian Congress Leader Sonia Ghandhi.
