The Chilaw Police arrested a man who had defrauded 100,000 rupees each from 20 job seekers with a promise of jobs in Germany.

Police also found 10 forged passports and 4 fake airline tickets and a rented vehicle at the time of arrest.

The man had posed as German national and lured job seekers from Chilaw, Jaffna, Colombo, Avissawella and Mundalama.

Investigations have revealed that the suspect is a Tamil residing in Kilinochchi.

He is said to have been residing in a Five Star Hotel in Colombo and carrying out his racketeering.
