Wildlife officials have caught the crocodile in the Nilwala River in Matara which had previously grabbed 02 innocent human lives.

The Director General of Wildlife H.B. Ratnayake stated that this crocodile was caught last night to a trap which was set at Kuda-duwa in North Malimbada.

It is reported that this deadly crocodile is 12 feet long.

During the past several weeks, a mother of 03 children in Kadduwa and an 18 year old student in Kuda-duwa died due to being attacked by this crocodile.

The Minister of Agrarian Services and Wildlife S.M. Chandrasena stated that there are approximately 70 crocodiles in the Nilwala River.
