The United National Party alleges that the Indian delegation due to arrive in Sri Lanka does not have the opportunity to meet with the Tamil people freely.

UNP MP Lakshman Kiriella speaking to our news team stated that the delegation will have to work to the Sri Lanka government’s agenda.

However, the government states that the UNP has no authority to make statements regarding the Indian delegation’s visit.

We spoke to Minister of Power and Energy Patali Champika Ranawaka regarding the allegations put forth by the UNP.

The Minister stated that the Indian delegation being able to visit Sri Lanka should be attributed to the fact that President Mahinda Rajapakse defeated terrorism and won the war.
