The National Atomic Energy Agency refutes charges that it was retaliating against India, subsequent to India's vote which was placed against Sri Lanka during the recently held the session of the international human rights council.
This comes in the wake of an article published by the 'Times of India' which goes on to say that Sri Lanka was exacting revenge for Delhi's stance.
The response made via a release made public by the national atomic energy agency, has been filed in reply to this claim.
Sri Lanka & India are member states of the International Atomic Energy Agency.
According to a statement issued by the IAEA, Sri Lanka is said to be fully aware of the procedure in which atomic energy is converted into electricity.
In a related development the IAEA asserts that Sri Lanka in no way is against the establishment of a nuclear power plant on Indian soil, which caters to purely civilian purposes.
