The Indian parliamentary delegation has expressed their satisfaction to the Sri Lankan government regarding development and welfare activities that are going on in the Northern Province.
The delegation headed by opposition leader Sushma Swaraj toured the war-torn areas to assess the situation there during the day yesterday.
The Government Information Department stated that the delegation that President Mahinda Rajapakse and the government for the development that has taken place in the North.
The delegation inspected the Kadirgamar Relief Village in Settikulam and several other projects funded by the Indian government.
They also handed out agriculture equipment and school material to residents in Mulativ.
Meanwhile, the Indian delegation is due to meet Opposition Leader Ranil Wickremasinghe today.
A spokesman for the opposition leader’s office stated that extensive discussions will be held in to finding a political solution to the national issue.
The spokesman added that the opposition leader will also explain his comments during his visit to India recently.
