Indian delegation to hold discussions with the President today

The Indian Parliamentary delegation which is touring in the island is scheduled to meet President Mahinda Rajapakse today.

The Presidential Media Unit stated that discussions with regard to the national issue in Sri Lanka will be taken up for discussion between the President and the Indian delegation.

However, the Head of the Indian delegation Opposition Leader of the Lok Sabha Sushma Swaraj joined with President Mahinda Rajapakse last morning over breakfast.

The Indian delegation is also scheduled to convene a media briefing in Colombo today with regard to their Sri Lankan tour following the discussion with the President.

Meanwhile, the Indian delegation led by the Opposition Leader of the Indian Lok Sabha Sushma Swaraj joined a dinner hosted by the Sri Lanka Maha Bodhi Association yesterday for which several political leaders including Opposition Leader Ranil Wickremasinghe participated.

On the 16th of April, the Indian delegation toured in the Northern Province, Central Hills and Eastern Province.

In addition to it, the Indian Parliamentary delegation also met political leaders of the United National Party, Tamil National Alliance and the estates.
