Member of the Indian Parliamentary delegation Congress Party Parliamentarian Sudarshan Nachchiyappan states that measures will be taken to submit a report to the Prime Minister of India Man Mohan Singh with regard to their tour of Sri Lanka.

Parliamentarian Sudarshan Nachchiyappan joined the Indian Parliamentary delegation led by Opposition Leader of the Indian Lok Sabha Sushma Swaraj in its Sri Lankan tour as a Congress Party Parliamentarian representing Tamil Nadu.

Expressing views to the media in Chennai, Congress Party Parliamentarian Sudarshan Nachchiyappan stated that the discussion which was held with President Mahinda Rajapakse with regard to the devolution of power in areas where Tamil speaking people reside was fruitful.

Congress Party Parliamentarian Sudarshan Nachchiyappan also expressed views with regard to the progress of resettling the displaced individuals in the North.

Speaking further he also pointed out that the Indian Parliamentary delegation toured in many areas in the North including the Manikfarm Camp and other IDP camps.

Congress Party Parliamentarian Sudarshan Nachchiyappan pointed out that an Indian Parliamentary delegation toured in Sri Lanka in 2010 when there were approximately 250,000 individuals staying at IDP camps whereas now there are merely less than 6,000 individuals to be resettled.

Speaking further he stated that the Sri Lankan government had promised to immediately resettle them based on the progress of the demining activities.

Congress Party Parliamentarian Sudarshan Nachchiyappan pointed out that the discussion which was held with President Mahinda Rajapakse for more than 45 minutes was very fruitful.

The Congress Party Parliamentarian also stated that the experiences during the week long Sri Lankan tour will be presented to Prime Minister Man Mohan Singh in a report.

The Tamil Nadu Congress Party Parliamentarian also expressed views with regard to the objections expressed by the Tamil Nationalist Party of Tamil Nadu for the Sri Lankan tour of the Indian Parliamentary delegation.

Congress Party Parliamentarian Sudarshan Nachchiyappan pointed out that all parties within a democratic country have their own agendas and targets.
