The relatives of the Sri Lankan fishermen who were captured by Somali pirates allege that the Ministry of Fisheries did not take measures to save them.
They allege that although the Ministry of Fisheries was informed regarding this since last October, they failed to take any measures.
The 06 Sri Lankan fishermen and their vessel which were captured by Somali pirates were recently rescued by the Spanish Navy.
The fishing vessel 'Nimesha Duwa' which left for sea from Negombo last October was captured by Somali pirates.
The 06 Sri Lankan fishermen who were saved by the Spanish Navy are currently under the custody of the Government of Spain.
Speaking to our News Team, their relatives stated that they are scheduled to arrive in the island on the 25th of April.
Speaking further the relatives expressed their objection to the Minister of Fisheries Affairs Rajitha Senaratna.
