Minister of disaster management Mahinda Amaraweera charges that the UNP & the JVP are falling short of the expectations placed in them as the countries opposition.
The minister's comments came during a media briefing which was held to educate the media on how it should act during a potential disaster situation.
Speaking here Minister Amaraweera added that the opposition had vehemently criticised the tsunami warning which was issued by the government recently.
The minister further justified his stance by stating that neither the UNP nor the JVP, had nominated members for the national disaster management councils which are headed by president Mahinda Rajapaksa.
