Two LTTE suspects who have been placed under arrest for having allegedly attempted to destroy a Sri Lankan air force Antenov 32 craft by launching a missile at it, have been ordered to be placed under further custody until the 7th of May.
Two frontline members of the LTTE missile squad, both residents of the Jaffna area had been ordered to be placed under remand custody by Anuradhapura Chief Magistrate Ruwanthika Marapana.
When the case was taken up in courts today the TID informed the magistrate that the weapons believed to have been instrumental in this attack had been recovered from the Pudukudirippu area.
The TID informed court that the weapons instrumental in the attack would be presented during the next hearing.
The attack which was planned and executed 12 years before claimed the lives of 40 security force personnel together with its it's Russian pilot and 3 crew members.
