A protest was being launched before the Dawatagaha mosque in Colombo this afternoon. This protest was launched against the relocation of the mosque which is situated within the premises of the Dambulla sacred site.
According to our In-house correspondent leader of the front line socialist party Mp Ajith Kumara, leader of the democratic peoples front mano ganeshan & leader of the New Leftist front Dr. Wickramabahu karunarathna are said to have taken part in his protest.

Moreover another protest was organised by Muslim devotees who participated in Friday prayers at the Puttlam Jumma mosque.
This protest was also carried out against the relocation of the Dambulla mosque.
The demonstration which commenced from near the Puttlam jumma mosque in a peaceful manner, dispersed upon reaching the Puttlam town.
However Friday Prayers were held in a peaceful manner at the disputed Dambulla mosque.
Devotees who partook in Friday prayers subsequently stated that the Muslim and Sinhala communities in dambulla had no rifts among them.
They added that they were prepared to accept any solution presented to them by the President in this regard.
In more developments the All Ceylon Jammaith Ulama or the organisation known otherwise as the Islamic theologian's Association has splintered into two factions.
The group which had proselytized in this manner are to function here after under the title 'Lanka Jamiththu ulama council'
Meanwhile the Spiritual leader of Iran Ayatollah Tushkiri met Prime Minister D.M. Jayarathna today.
During this meeting talks were also focussed on the Dambulla mosque issue.
The Spiritual leader of Iran Ayatollah Tushkiri had commended the efforts made by the premier to contain & solve the issue.
