The ministry of health states that more than 90% of those who fell victim to dengue related deaths during last year succumbed to their fates due to the lack of knowledge concerning the decease.

181 persons are reported to have died of contracting dengue last year, while around 50 deaths have been reported during this year so far.

According to the ministry of health, 90% of these deaths have been caused due to patients reaching homoerotic conditions or convulsions, 24 hours subsequent to being admitted into a hospital.

The ministry of health states that the best precautionary measure to prevent dengue related deaths is to recognise the disease during its early stages.

It further states that the ministry cannot be satisfied with the level competency the public possesses regarding dengue.
