Petroleum Industries Minister Susil Premajayantha says that no discussion to sell the Petroleum Corporation to a foreign institution had taken place.

Speaking to our news team the Minister said that there was no truth in the reports published about this.

Previously reports had been published saying that steps had been taken to hand over the activities of the Sapugasganda Oil Refinery to Indian Oil.

Indian reports had earlier said that Indian Oil too had submitted an application for the transference for itself the activities of the Sapugaskanda Oil Refinery.

However the Petroleum Minister said that there was no need for such transference.

The Minister said further that the activities of the Sapgaskanda Oil
Refinery were going on as usual.
