Wildlife Officials have decided today to quit their official duties including the warding off of elephants.

This decision was taken subsequent to the irresponsiveness of Police officials to the incident where a group of unidentified individuals have attacked the wildlife officials who were engaged in rescuing an elephant that was struggling to escape from a pit in the Aban-pola region.

Expressing views in this concern the Deputy Chairman of the All Island Wildlife Officials Union A.G.P.K. Tennakone had this to say…
