The Former Governor of Tamil Nadu M. Karunanidhi on addressing a media briefing in India expressed several views regarding the relocation of the Mosque erected within the Dambulla Sacred Site.
Karunanidhi added that it is a prime duty of all nations world over to protect and safeguard the rights of citizens from various religious backgrounds.
The former Tamil Nadu Governor also expressed his sorrow for the Muslim community subsequent to having expressed his dissatisfaction over the recent Dambulla incident.
Expressing further views to Indian media Karunanidhi went onto state that the International Community should come forth to express their stance in concern of this issue.
Meanwhile, the Sri Lanka Muslim Congress convened a press conference in Colombo today to elaborate on the recent quarrel that took place in Dambulla.
Addressing the press briefing SLMC Leader Rauff Hakeem stated that the Prime Minister’s approval of an alternate land for the relocation of the Mosques built within a sacred site in Dambulla is not a solution for the strife.
