Britain refutes Sri Lankan returnee abuse allegations.

In a latest report the British government has stated that there is no evidence that returning migrants from the UK to Sri Lanka were abused.

Sri Lankan Tamils seeking asylum in the United States, Australia and European countries including the UK state that they would be subject to mistreatment in their home country.

The UK Foreign and Commonwealth Office stated in its annual Human Rights Report for 2011 launched yesterday that allegations in respect of returnees from the UK being abused were investigated by the High Commission and no evidence was found to substantiate them.
