The Supreme Court today decided to postpone the hearing of the bail application submitted by the leader of the Democratic National Alliance Sarath Fonseka.
Accordingly, the application would be taken up for hearing on the 09th
Although the bail application of Sarath Fonseka was due to be taken up before a 5 judge panel initially, it was being considered by a three judge bench toady.
Two of the judges in the panel had left abroad, there by creating a two seated void.
Attorney at law Nalin Ladduwahetti appearing on behalf of the accused stated that the health situation of his client was rapidly deteriorating.
Court upon considering the facts presented before it ordered the prison superintendent to submit a report regarding the health status of Sarath Fonseka.
Meanwhile, taking up of the special appeals petition submitted by Sarath Fonseka against the verdict of the white flag case was postponed by courts today for further consideration in future.
