Ravinath Ariyasinghe has been appointed the new Sri Lankan Permanent Representative to the United Nations office in Geneva.

Secretary of the Ministry of External Affairs Karunathilaka Amunugama confirmed that the appointment will come in to effect from today.

Tamara Kunanayagam who previously held the post has been appointed the Sri Lankan Ambassador to Cuba.

Ravinath Ariyasinghe who was the Sri Lankan Ambassador to Belgium is also the Sri Lanka’s Ambassador to the European Union.
