The Minister of Foreign Employment Promotion and Welfare Dilan Perera notified Parliament today that a decision will be made in future regarding the ban on deploying domestic aides to Jordan.

The Minister added that a decision will be reached upon subsequent to his scheduled tour to Jordan which is to take place next week.

Several countries including India have posed a ban on deploying domestic aides and foreign employment seekers to Jordan due to safety issues.

Minister Dilan Perera made these statements in response to a query raised by UNP Parliamentarian Ranjan Ramanayake.

Meanwhile UNP MP Dayasiri Jayasekara raised a question regarding the Aluthgama – Galle railway line.

Transportation Minister Kumara Welgama replied to the question and with that reply an interesting situation developed between Minister Kumara Welgama and MP Dayasiri Jayasekara.
