The police have started investigations into the break in that occurred last night at the financial division in the Educational Ministry at Battaramulla.

The thieves have entered into the financial division which is located on the fourth floor using a window and had proceeded to break the doors and tried to steal the money located in the money vaults according to a police officer from the Thalangama police.

However since the thieves were unable to locate the keys to the vaults, they have been unable to steal any money.

Ministry officials have told the police that there have been nearly 150,000 rupees in one of the vaults.
