The Opposition Leader has ordered United National Party representatives to refrain from obtaining injunction orders against any election that is due to be held in the future.

Opposition Leader Ranil Wickremasinghe made this decision after the incident where a UNP provincial council MP obtained an injunction order against dissolving and holding elections in the North Central Province.

The UNP leader has informed his party representatives that they should be ready for any election at any time.

Meanwhile, the UNP electorate organizers of the Sabaragamuwa, North Central and Eastern provinces have been called for a special meeting.

The meeting which will be held under the patronage of UNP leader Ranil Wickremasinghe will focus on the upcoming provincial council elections in their respective provinces.
