The Obama Administration has reiterated that it expects a concise roadmap on the countries reconciliation process.

Speaking during the daily press briefing at the US Department of State, Nuland stated that the Sri Lankan government should come forward with a clear plan on reconciliation when External Affairs Minister Prof. G.L. Pieris meets US Secretary of State Hillary Clinton in Washington DC, next week.

In January this year, the Secretary of State Hillary Clinton invited her Sri Lankan counterpart for ‘re-engagement’ on the issues on the heels of a US backed resolution against Sri Lanka at the UN Human Rights Council.
