The strike stance launched by the Government Medical Officers Association since this morning has been called off.

Media Committee Member of the GMOA Dr. Naveen Soysa speaking to our news team noted that the association had decided to call off its strike stance subsequent to its discussions with officials attached to the Ministry of Health.

Dr. Naveen Soysa also noted that discussions held in this regard with ministry officials had yielded satisfactory results, especially rapid solutions for the association's decisive issues.

However the Colombo District Courts today issued an enjoining order

which prevents the GMOA from launching a strike stance up until the 25th of this month.

Colombo District Court Judge Dhammika Gonapola sustained this order upon considering a petition which had been filed by an individual named Dhammika Gonapola, a heart patient who had been receiving treatment at the Colombo National Hospital.
